Misbehavior by anglers could cause a landowner to close their property to public angling. These landowners are allowing the public to fish from their property October 1 through June 15 though an agreement with VDGIF. Several waterbodies listed here are located on private land. This data is to be used as a guide, not for official use, and this data is not considered to be an official boundary of the stocked trout waters. This data does not supercede physical signage at the locations indicated. Rainbow, Brown, and Brook Trout represent the species being stocked. These data are formatted as an ArcView shapefile and compiled by the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries (VDGIF). Some special regulation streams displayed do not receive stocking and contain wild trout. The stocked trout stream sections are displayed in this dataset.
